Here is a list of hardware interfaces that can be used with Indigo's built-in protocol support (Z-Wave and Insteon). Use these interfaces to communicate with many of the the hundreds of devices that Indigo supports. Devices which use other technologies are also available via 3rd party plugins from our Plugin Store.
The interfaces on this list should still be available through various outlets.
Name | Manufacturer | Protocol(s) | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
GoControl QuickStick Combo | GoControl/Linear | This interface supports both Z-Wave and ZigBee, though as of Indigo v2021 only Z-Wave is supported. Requires Silicon Labs driver v5 or later. |
PowerLinc 2413U | Insteon | This is Indigo Domotic's recommended Insteon interface. The 2413U is dual-band - so it sends Insteon commands both on the power line and via RF. It no longer supports X10. |
SmartStick+ | HomeSeer | Uses the modem USB driver that's built-in to macOS. |
UZB USB Stick | None | Uses built-in drivers included in macOS so no extra driver install is necessary. |
W800USB X10 RF Receiver | WGL & Associates | This device uses the built-in macOS FTDI driver so no extra driver install is necessary. |
Z-Stick 7 | Aeotec | This device requires the Silicon Labs VCP driver to be installed in order to work on macOS. |
Z-Stick Plus (Gen5) | Aeotec | Uses built-in drivers included in macOS so no extra driver install is necessary. This is Indigo Domotics recommended Z-Wave interface. It's available in versions for North America, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand. |
Zooz Z-Wave Plus S2 USB Stick | Zooz | Uses built-in drivers included in macOS so no extra driver install is necessary. |
The interfaces on this list are no longer supported by Indigo or have been discontinued by the manufacturer and are likely hard to acquire. We leave them here for those that may already have them.
Name | Manufacturer | Protocol(s) | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
CM11/CM12/HD11/HD12 | Marmitek | Legacy X10 interface. Some versions may be serial and require a USB to serial adaptor. Indigo does not support uploading triggers/schedules to any X10 interface. |
CM15A/CM15Pro | Marmitek | Indigo no longer installs a driver for this interface. This interface receives X10 RF commands as well as receives/sends X10 power line commands. Note that Indigo doesn't support transmitting X10 RF signals regardless of interface nor does it support uploading triggers/schedules. |
Insteon Portable USB Adaptor | Insteon | This interface is RF only and can send extended messages. Will require another dual-band device in order to communicate with INSTEON power line only devices. It does not support X10. It uses the FTDI driver that's built-in to macOS so no extra driver install is necessary. |
PowerLinc 2412S | Insteon | DISCONTINUED This PowerLinc transmits power line only and it supports extended commands. This is a serial model and requires a USB to serial adaptor. |
PowerLinc 2412U | Insteon | DISCONTINUED This PowerLinc transmits power line only and it supports extended commands. |
PowerLinc 2413S | Insteon | The 2413U is dual-band - so it sends INSTEON commands both on the power line and via RF. It also supports extended commands. It is a serial version so it will require a USB to serial adaptor and the appropriate macOS driver. |
PowerLinc Controller 1132CU | Insteon | DISCONTINUED Indigo no longer installs a driver for this interface. This discontinued X10 only interface had limited standalone capability for running schedules logic independently of Indigo. |
PowerLinc Controller 2414U | Insteon | DISCONTINUED Indigo no longer installs a driver for this interface. This discontinued X10 only interface had limited standalone capability for running schedules logic independently of Indigo.
